Screening of the film “Wild Albania”
Zeta Gallery - Tiranë
During her stay in Tirana from April to May 2024, Miriam Schmid created a short interpretative film. The main questions raised by the film are: Which Austrian companies have their representations in Albania? Given that one of the largest banks in Albania is Austrian, does this bank play a special role in the Albanian economy? In addition to raising these specific questions, this work aims to reflect the cultural prejudices that still exist regarding Albania among civilized people in Austria. The filming took place in Tirana with various individuals who participated voluntarily.

Screening of the film “Alma and Oskar”
Kinema Republika - Shkodër
Alma Mahler, a widow, captivates the "Enfant Terrible" of the Viennese art scene, the young painter Oskar Kokoschka. What begins as a sexual adventure quickly turns into an intense story. Oskar sees Alma as his muse, serving more to fuel his masculine fantasy than to reflect reality. His fixation on winning her over jeopardizes her dream of becoming successful. Thus, a game of power and dependency arises, leading both Alma and Oskar to the brink of self-destruction. This film, directed by Dieter Berner, has achieved great success in all the cinemas where it has been screened.
