Brazilian Literary Night

This is the openingevent of the Brazilian Cultural Week and promises to deliver a lot of emotions.The Brazilian Poetic Night is a rare experience that intertwines the beauty ofpoetry and prose with the perfect sounds of the piano. They will read works by renowned Brazilian authors such asHilda Hilst, Fernando Pessoa, the novel "The Psychiatrist" by Machadode Assis, and works by Miguel Torga. String Concert: “Camerata Balcanica”
Location: Orthodox Cathedral Cultural Center
The string concert isimpressive and comes with great passion from the renowned ensemble “CamerataBalcanica.” This group consists of young and talented classical musicians fromthe Western Balkans, who will bring an extraordinary musical experience to thestage. Camerata Balcanica is a unique ensemble made up of ten distinguishedmusicians: four violinists, two violists, two cellists, and one double bassist.For this special event, they will perform a carefully selected program thatincludes some of the most beautiful pieces of Brazilian music. The repertoirewill feature works by well-known Brazilian composers, offering a harmoniousblend of classical sounds and traditional Brazilian motifs. Brazilian Film Screening: “Behind the Sun”

Aspart of the Brazilian Cultural Week, the well-known film “Behind the Sun” willbe shown, a cinematic work that deals with deep and touching themes in thecontext of rural Brazil. This 2001 film, directed by Walter Salles, one of themost renowned names in Brazilian cinema known for "Central Station"and "The Motorcycle Diaries," tells the story of a poor family facinginternal conflicts and numerous challenges in their struggle to survive andmaintain hope. With excellent performances by actors Rodrigo Santoro and JoséDumont, the film offers a poignant glimpse into life and traditions in early20th-century Brazil. “Behind the Sun” has received numerous accolades and wasnominated for several international awards, including a Golden Globe nominationfor Best Foreign Language Film.
